Diljit Dosanjh, truly the man of the century, has been unstoppable lately. After the grand, record-breaking success of his Dil-Luminati Tour in Canada and the USA, followed by the historic box office triumph of Jatt & Juliet 3, Diljit continues his winning streak with yet another sold-out leg of his Dil-Luminati Tour in India. Honestly, it’s getting hard to keep up with our Sardaarji! It seems like Luck, the Universe, and everything in between is on Diljit’s side.
Mark your calendars, because his Dil-Luminati India Tour kicks off on October 26 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi. But that’s not the only exciting thing happening in October. Cue the drumroll! The highly anticipated shooting of Border 2 is set to begin, and guess who’s joining the star-studded cast? That’s right—Diljit Dosanjh! While this casting news might not be shocking considering Diljit’s meteoric rise, it’s still a pleasant surprise for his fans.
Joining Diljit in this epic war drama are Bollywood powerhouses Varun Dhawan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vinali Bhatnagar, and of course, Sunny Paaji himself—Sunny Deol. Sunny Deol even took to Instagram to share his excitement, welcoming Diljit to the cast. In turn, Diljit posted a short clip of the movie, featuring his voice, to officially announce his role. The film, written by Nidhi Dutta and directed by Anurag Kashyap, starts shooting in October and is set for a Republic Day release on January 23, 2026. Given Anurag Kashyap’s impressive track record with films like Kesari, Punjab 1984, Jatt & Juliet, and Dil Bole Hadippa, expectations for Border 2 are sky-high.
The story of this sequel to the iconic Border, is placed in the same setting at the Battle of Longewala. It’s presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and JP Dutta’s J.P. Films, with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta at the helm as producers. As thrilling as it sounds, the film has already faced a legal challenge from Border’s original producer, Bharat Shah, due to copyright claims.
In response to this, a co-producer of Border 2 clarified the situation, stating, “This is a sub judice matter. The Honourable High Court has reviewed all the facts for years and ruled in our favour. As per the settlement agreement, Bharat Shah is required to pay the overflow owed to us, which he hasn’t done for 27 years. He hasn’t provided a single record of the film’s business to date. Once he honors his commitment, we can take this further. But as of now, he has no part in Border 2.”
Despite the legal wrangles, fans are beyond excited for this epic sequel, and the buzz surrounding Border 2 is already through the roof. January 23, 2026, can’t come soon enough! While you wait, be sure to catch up on Diljit Dosanjh’s top films like Punjab 1984, Jatt & Juliet 1, Jatt & Juliet 2, Jatt & Juliet 3, Sardaarji, Sardaarji 2, and Disco Singh, all streaming exclusively on Chaupal!
