AP Dhillon Crushes Guitar at Coachella Sparking Controversy and Social Media Outrage

Coachella season is here and so are the controversies related to it. Last year, Diljit Dosanjh won everyone’s hearts with his electrifying performance and majestic charm at Coachella. This year, another Punjabi singer, AP Dhillon, is making headlines, but for completely different reasons. AP Dhillon struck another controversy when he shared a video of himself that has taken social media by storm, showing him smashing his guitar on stage during a live performance. The video was captioned, ‘BROWN MUNDE HAVE LEFT THE DESERT.’

During his performance, AP Dhillon shared the stage with fellow singer Shinda Kahlon, who later commented on Dhillon’s post with a guitar emoji. However, netizens do not seem to appreciate Dhillon’s actions, criticizing him for disrespecting the instrument that brought him to the stage. Comments like ‘Respect the things that brought you to this stage; it’s completely your loss,’ ‘Not the guitar, please,’ and ‘Not cool at all. NOT COOL AT ALL.’ Every fan of AP Dhillon seems disappointed with his actions, stating that in India, instruments are worshipped, not broken.

This is not the first time AP Dhillon has found himself amidst controversies. In 2023, he was slashed during the Khalistani row related to another singer, Shubh, when he shared a cryptic note regarding Shubh’s controversial cancellation of his Indian tour. One month later, he faced criticism for wearing shoes themed with the Indian flag. Now, AP Dhillon has broken his silence on the viral video of him smashing his guitar on stage, once again taking to social media. He shared a still image of himself smashing the guitar, with the words ‘Justice for Sidhu Moosewala’ visible in the background. Additionally, he included a video clip of an international musician smashing their guitar during a live performance on another slide. In the caption, he wrote, ‘The media is controlled, and I’m out of control.’

Coachella is a three-day event split into two sets. The first set took place from April 12 to April 14, and the second set will run from April 19 to April 21. It’ll be exciting to see what unfolds during the remaining days of this music festival.
