Legal Trouble Looms Over Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati Tour: Ticket Price Manipulation Allegations

Diljit Dosanjh has been the talk of the town since the start of the year, whether it’s for the phenomenal success of his Dil-Luminati tour, his energetic performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, or his blockbuster hit Jatt & Juliet 3, which raked in over ₹107 crores at the box office. Just last week, he made headlines yet again with the record-breaking sales of his Dil-Luminati tour, where early bird tickets vanished in minutes and a staggering 1 lakh tickets were gone in just 15 minutes. Even the general tickets disappeared in under a minute!

But now, Diljit is in the spotlight for a whole different reason – he’s been hit with a legal notice over allegations of ticket price manipulation.

As reported by Free Press Journal, a Delhi-based law student named Ridhima Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the organizers of Diljit’s concert after she couldn’t secure tickets. Big names like HDFC, Zomato, and Saregama Pvt. Ltd. are also caught up in the complaint.

Ridhima has accused the organizers of playing games with ticket availability, which, she claims, drove up the prices. The subject of her complaint states, “Manipulation for ticket prices, unfair trade practices, and scalping of tickets for Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati India tour.”

She pointed out that the abrupt unavailability of tickets hints at some shady practices, saying, “The sudden unavailability of tickets strongly suggests manipulation and scalping. The quick transaction indicated that your organization may be artificially inflating demand and manipulating prices.”

Neither the organizers nor Diljit have responded to these allegations yet. Meanwhile, Diljit is continuing his European tour and is expected back in India on October 10 for the Indian leg of his Dil-Luminati tour, with the first show scheduled at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 26. Despite the controversy, excitement for the tour is at an all-time high.

In addition to his tour, Diljit will also be busy with his upcoming movie Border 2, where he’ll share the screen with Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol, and Ayushmann Khurrana. Shooting for the film kicks off in October, with a release planned for January 23, 2025. On top of that, Diljit recently dropped his new track “Chal Kudiye” for Alia Bhatt’s latest film Jigra. It’s safe to say, even with a legal cloud overhead, there’s no slowing down for Diljit!
